Schladming is known exclusively for skiing... DO NOT VOTE! Our region has a lot to offer also for non-skiers and is therefore perfect for your winter freshness with the 4 mountain swing. No matter if romantic winter hikes, snowball fights in the forest, snowshoe hikes - alone or guided by us, romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides - we have something for everyone.

Winter hiking

Around 50 designated winter walks and numerous insider tips for your most beautiful hikes and walks in the winter landscape await you. There is something for every level of difficulty. Take advantage of the opportunity and enjoy the silence and unspoiled nature far from the slopes. You can find all hiking possibilities here.

Donki's favorite hiking trails are the winter hiking trail to the Brandalm (you have to climb up to the Dachsteinkircherl as well), the hike through the illuminated Talbachklamm and Hopsis winter hiking trail on the Planai.

Winter hiking ticket Schladming-Dachstein

For all winter lovers who want to go up the mountain on foot and without sports equipment, there is now the winter hiking ticket in the Schladming-Dachstein region.

The inexpensive pedestrian ticket (without sports equipment) is valid on the Planai, Hochwurzen, Dachstein, Galsterberg, Reiteralm, Fageralm and HauserKaibling mountains, and the ticket is also valid on all ski buses and toll roads.

Tobogganing and sledding

There are several designated toboggan runs and several possibilities to slide around with the children in our region. On the Hochwurzen, a 7 km long toboggan run awaits you, which is open during the day and in the evening. The Galsterbergalm also offers a total experience for the whole family. In addition to the toboggan run, you can also visit the Kinderland, which offers lots of fun for your youngest ones even without skis. A visit to the Rittisberg also pays off. Besides the incredible view of the Dachstein and the whole region, a beautiful toboggan run awaits you here as well.

Snowshoeing

For those who want to get off the beaten track, we recommend trying out snowshoes. Several times a week we offer guided snowshoe hikes with hiking guide Stefan in our activity program. Of course you can also go off on your own and try out some of the countless hiking routes. We would be happy to teach you the basics in the hotel garden before you explore the nature on your own. You can find an overview of the snowshoe hiking routes here. You can rent snowshoes from us or in a sports store. Please bring your own good hiking boots or even better, sturdy winter shoes.

Trip to the Dachstein

In summer, the Dachstein is an extremely popular excursion destination, in winter it is still considered more of an insider tip. Even without skis, we therefore recommend an ascent with the spectacular Dachstein panorama gondola high up to the Dachstein glacier. Once at the top, the skywalk, the suspension bridge, the stairs to nowhere and the ice palace await you at no extra charge.
If you would like to hike a little further up, we recommend a winter hike to the Dachsteinwarte.

And if you still want to do some skiing up there, pack your skis and combine the attractions with a few turns on the Dachstein glacier world. The ascent with the cable car is included in your multi-day ski pass.

Horse-drawn sleigh rides

A pleasure for the whole family is a romantic ride on a horse-drawn sleigh. Once a week we offer a joint horse-drawn sleigh ride directly from the hotel in our activity program (for a fee), but a horse-drawn sleigh ride through Ramsau would also be highly recommended. We are happy to help you with the booking at the reception.
