The kinderhotel.info Award does not simply rely on gut feeling or sheer popularity. It uses a transparent scoring system that systematically compares over 700 family hotels. The goal is a fair, transparent evaluation that takes into account guest reviews, amenities, service, and the genuine family-friendliness of a property.

The rating system comprises four equally weighted categories, each worth up to 25 points, resulting in a total score of up to 100 points:

• Family-friendly amenities & services: Key factors such as childcare hours, infant care, pools, stroller rentals, youth programs, and age-appropriate supervision are objectively evaluated.
• Guest reviews on external platforms: Average ratings from Google, TripAdvisor, and HolidayCheck are factored in, ensuring that the opinions of many families are taken into account.
• Reviews on kinderhotel.info: Direct feedback from guests on the platform is also counted and weighted—including both positive and negative reviews.
• No-Fake Factor: A special mechanism rewards hotels with a low proportion of negative reviews relative to the number of rooms—a safeguard against skewed results and manipulative practices. 

Only properties that offer a strong overall package combining genuine family-friendliness, outstanding guest reviews, and well-thought-out amenities make it onto Europe’s Top 50 list—and only five made it into the top five this year, including us.
